A security researcher has discovered a vulnerability and reported it to Apple. The security flaw could allow an attacker to remotely wipe iPhone and iPad devices with all iOS versions up to iOS 15.
User @RobertCFO posted on Twitter that he found a bug that allows a user to use a high-level proximity Bluetooth LE exploit to remotely wipe iPhones and iPads without having access to the devices. The user also stated that he will provide a proof of concept at a later date.

In addition, the Tweet a screenshot of an email he received from a member of the Apple Product Security Team. In it, the team member confirms the problem and explains that it will be fixed in iOS 15.1, which, according to the Apple representative, will be released the week after Apple's "Unleashed" event on Monday, October 25th. In the process, Apple also asked Robert to keep the email and the details of the exploit confidential until the patches have been released to users. The fourth beta for iOS 15.1 and Co. was only made available yesterday. The update mainly contains features that were not completed on time in iOS 15, including SharePlay.
