After Apple officially released iOS 14 last week, signing for iOS 13.7 has now been stopped.
Apple released iOS 14 globally for all users on September 16th. After just one week, the signing of iOS 13.7 has now officially stopped. When Apple stops signing an iOS version, this means that users are no longer able to upgrade to the previous version via PC or Mac. Like other iOS updates, iOS 14 also brings a number of security improvements by fixing various vulnerabilities. Such security gaps make devices vulnerable and also enable jailbreaking. For this reason, Apple is stopping the signing of older iOS versions in a timely manner. In addition to security improvements, the new update also brings many new features such as completely redesigned widgets, the app library, a compact design for phone calls and much more. The areas of privacy and data protection also benefit greatly from iOS 14. Apple describes the brand new update as follows:
iOS 14 iMessage: Improvements for Groups
iOS 14 delivers a completely new iPhone experience, with completely redesigned widgets right on the Home screen, an App Library to automatically organize apps, and a new compact design for phone calls and Siri. Messages introduces pinned conversations for the first time and offers improvements to Groups and Memoji. Guides in Maps now support bike routes and make it easier to find landmarks and other places of interest. App Clips give you the ability to quickly use a small part of an app for a specific task. New privacy features improve transparency and control over how apps access information like location, photos, microphone, and camera.
