Apple released the first beta version of iOS 14.5 last week and added some new features. Now another feature has been discovered.
In addition to a number of new features, Apple has added the ability to set a default music streaming service when using Siri to play songs. When a user asks Siri to play a song for the first time on iOS 14.5, a screen opens where the user can select which music streaming app to set as the default application. However, only installed applications are available for selection. After a qualified app is selected, Siri switches to that service by default.
iOS 14.5: Implementation not yet complete
For example, if Spotify was selected instead of Apple Music, Siri will play the desired song in Spotify in the future. This means that users no longer have to name the service, as was previously the case. According to userswho have already tested the feature, it currently only works with certain phrases and sometimes reverts to Apple Music. So the implementation seems to be ongoing. iOS 14.5 is the biggest update to iOS 14 yet and introduces several important features, including the ability to unlock the iPhone with an Apple Watch - you can find out more about that below.
