Apple rolled out the third beta of iOS 14.5 for developers yesterday evening and integrated a new area in “Find My”.
Starting with iOS 14.5 and iPadOS 14.5, users will be able to track select non-Apple products, such as Beats headphones and the upcoming Belkin wireless earbuds, using Apple's built-in Find My app. In preparation for the launch of this feature, Apple made a new section called "Items" visible by default in the Find My app in the third beta of iOS 14.5. Previously, this tab was only accessible through a developer setting or by entering the URL scheme "findmy://items" in Safari on an iPhone or iPad. But that has now changed. iOS 14.5: AirTags will also be controlled via the new area
Apple's AirTags are also expected to be served through this range. At least, this is what a very early version of iOS 13 has revealed. Similar to Tile, AirTags are expected to help users keep track of their personal belongings, such as their backpack or purse, with users receiving a push notification on their Apple devices if they become separated from a tagged item.
