Apple has now officially released the second beta of iOS 14.5, iPadOS 14.5 and more for registered developers publishedA few changes and new features were added.
iOS 14.5 introduces a number of new features, including privacy improvements. However, there are also new features that expand the functionality expand. iOS 14.5: Over 200 new emoji
As reported by Emojipedia highlighted, iOS 14.5 introduces several new emoji, including a burning heart and an exhaling face, along with different gender options for people with beards. There are also new emoji for couples, which feature new skin tone blends. Additionally, Apple has removed the blood from the syringe emoji to give it a more neutral look that also represents vaccinations.
iOS 14.5: Will Apple finally fix the green tint problem?
Reports suggest that the second beta of iOS 14.5 could fix the green tint issue that some iPhone owners have been experiencing. Some iPhone 12 models show a gray or green tint, a problem that Apple is said to have investigated back in November. Interestingly, several users are now reporting that the new version has fixed the problem. However, not all of those affected can confirm this. Apple itself has not yet commented on the matter.
iPad Smart Folio Privacy
On the 8th generation iPad, 4th generation iPad Air, 2nd generation 11-inch iPad Pro, and 4th generation 12.9-inch iPad Pro, Apple has added a new privacy feature that mutes the built-in microphone when the Smart Folio is closed. This prevents apps from accessing the microphone when the tablet is not in use, with the feature also compatible with other MFi Smart Cases. Apple first introduced this feature in the 2020 iPad Pro models and is now expanding it to more models.

There is a new shortcut action for taking a screenshot that can be included in various shortcuts.
Apple Music
There are new swipe gestures in Apple Music to add a song to the Now Playing queue or to the Apple Music library. When users long-press on a song, there are also new options for Recently Played and View Album.
code changes and minor feature tweaks
There are a handful of changes to the underlying code that don't necessarily reflect new feature implementations at this time, but may serve as an indication of what's to come in the future. There are also a few smaller changes or optimizations:
- There's new wording in the Find My app for AirTags or future third-party item trackers: "These are items that aren't yours, but have been seen with you for an extended period of time."
- There is a mention of web apps that access speech recognition.
- There is an Apple Watch accessibility option for headphone notifications that allows you to turn the feature off.
- Apps can ask to connect with your Game Center friends to enhance multiplayer.
