Apple released a series of new updates for all users worldwide this evening, including iOS 14.5.1, iPadOS 14.5.1, watchOS 7.4.1, macOS Big Sur 11.3.1, and iOS 12.5.3 and iPadOS 12.5.3
Last week, Apple released a major series of updates for iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and Apple TV published. Now follow-up updates are publishedthat affect app tracking. In iOS 14.5.1, Apple is fixing a problem that the ATT framework (App Tracking Transparency) is supposed to fix. Some users have complained about a bug complainedthat may have prevented them from receiving tracking requests from apps. The update description states:
This update fixes an issue with the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework where users who had previously disabled "Allow apps to request tracking" in Settings were unable to receive requests from apps after re-enabling the option. This update also includes important security updates and is recommended for all users.
