Somewhat surprisingly, Apple has released the first beta of iOS 14.2, iPadOS 14.2, tvOS 14.2 and watchOS 7.1 for registered developers.
Apple released the seventh beta of macOS 11 Big Sur and the first beta of xCode 12.2 last night published. xCode 12.1 was skipped, which led to confusion. The update description hinted at iOS 14.2, iPadOS 14.2, tvOS 14.2 and watchOS 7.1. Now the time has come. It is not known why Apple has once again skipped an entire point version. The updates will probably focus on bug fixes and system optimizations. However, they should also contain new functions. As soon as all new features or changes are known, I will publish a summary as usual.
Important: Both iOS 14.2 and iPadOS 14.2 are available for download from the Apple Developer Center – but not over-the-air, at least not at this time.
Are you also a beta tester and would like to exchange ideas with other testers? Then you could join our Telegram group (Apfelpatient – Beta Workshop) might be just right for you.
Notice – As usual, a preview should not be installed on an actively used iPhone or iPad, as these are usually quite unstable and buggy – we recommend using a second device for this. (Photo by IuriiMotov / Bigstockphoto)
