Apple has updated a page where users can learn more about data protection. Here the company explains how it handles sensitive data and provides tips for users.
While many other manufacturers only touch on the subject of data protection in passing, Apple maintains its own information page on the subject. Here, individual data protection functions are explained in detail. The company has now updated the section. The reason for the update is iOS 13, iPadOS 13 and watchOS 6. The new operating systems contain many features that are also intended to improve data protection, so an update of the page was only a matter of time. The company writes:
"Privacy is a fundamental human right. At Apple, it's also one of our core values. Your devices are important to so many parts of your life. What you share from those experiences and who you share it with should be up to you. We design Apple products to protect your privacy and give you control over your data. It's not always easy. But that's the kind of innovation we believe in."
As part of this update, four new white papers have been added. These provide a deeper insight into specific Privacy features for Safari, Photos, Maps and “Sign in with Apple„. Of course, the areas of news, Siri, Apple News, Wallet & Apple Pay and Health are also summarized. In addition to the explanation of how individual mechanisms work and how Apple handles this data, there are also tips on how users can better protect themselves against phishing.
