The jailbreak community experienced a real surprise last year. In September, an exploit was presented that allows users to crack any iPhone made between 2011 and 2017 - iPhone 4S - iPhone X. Now an update is coming that can also crack the latest iPhone and iPad models.
Apple released iOS 13.5 yesterday rolled out to all users and now an interesting update has been announced. The upcoming jailbreak can be performed on all devices without exception. According to the unc0ver team, the tool can crack "any signed iOS version on any device". So the latest iPad and iPhone models are also affected. This means that both the iPhone 11 series and the iPhone SE and iPad Pro 2020 are now ready for a jailbreak. The unc0ver 5.0 tool is based on a kernel vulnerability that was originally found by Pwn20wnd, a well-known developer and hacker. It is not known when the tool will be updated. But according to the website the whole thing should happen shortly. A big advantage of unc0ver over Checkra1n is that it can run on macOS, Windows and Linux while Checkra1n is officially only available for macOS.
Note, please note:
If you are not familiar with jailbreaking, you should not under any circumstances attempt to blindly crack your iPhone or iPad. This process completely removes all software-based restrictions. For example, users can install applications outside of the App Store on the device. In addition, practically the entire system can be modified - removing all blocks also voids the warranty and makes the device vulnerable. Consequently, laypeople should avoid jailbreaking, as in this case the damage will be greater than the benefit. (Photo by sarayut / Bigstockphoto)
