Apple released iOS 12.5.1 on January 11th this year publishedNow the company has officially stopped signing iOS 12.5.
Apple released iOS 12.5 in December 2020, adding support for Encounter Notifications on older devices. Now Apple has officially stopped signing this version.
iOS 12.5.1: Apple also takes older devices into account
If Apple stops signing an iOS version, this means that users are no longer able to switch to the previous version via PC or Mac. With iOS 12.5.1, Apple has fixed a bug that displayed the logging profile of encounter notifications in the wrong language. Although iOS 12 was released over two years ago, Apple still offers security updates. This includes the iPhone 5S, iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, the iPad Air, iPad mini 2 and 3, and iPod touch 6. In addition to iOS 12.5, iOS 14.3 was also rolled out worldwide in December. You can find all the new features in Apple's current iOS version below. (Photo by Yastremska / Bigstockphoto)
