After releasing iOS 12.2 last month, Apple today officially stopped signing iOS 12.1.4, meaning users will no longer be able to revert to the previous version.
Apple usually stops signing older versions of iOS just a few weeks after an update is released. iOS 12.2 was officially rolled out on March 25th in conjunction with Apple's "It's show time" event at the Steve Jobs Theater. When Apple stops signing an iOS version, it means that users are no longer able to upgrade to the previous version via iTunes.
With this step, Apple wants to encourage users to update the software and prevent jailbreaks. iOS 12.2 contains a handful of new features such as Apple News+ (US & Canada), new Animojis, support for the new AirPods and Powerbeats Pro and more.
