As expected, references to new devices were found in the current iOS 12.2 beta - after the AirPods 2, details now follow on upcoming iPad devices and an iPod touch 7.
Only yesterday it was announced that Apple had registered seven new iPad devices with the EEC. If manufacturers want to bring new devices onto the market, they must first be registered with the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC). Now the developer Steven Troughton-Smith has discovered new clues about previously unknown iPad models. According to the code, this specifically concerns the tablets iPad11.1, iPad11.2, iPad11.3 and iPad11.4 - these are two WiFi devices and two WiFi + cellular models. According to initial findings, all four models are to be equipped with Touch ID - this would correspond to previous rumors about the upcoming tablets. According to speculation, a new iPad mini 5 and the successor to the 9.7" iPad are to be released. Apple wants to promote both iPad models as entry-level devices at a low price.
iPod touch 7
In addition to the new iPad models, the developer also found references to a new iPod touch.
According to the code, it is a device called iPod touch9,1. According to this, Apple should be planning to release the iPod touch 7. The iPhone-like device was last updated in 2015. It was not possible to determine from the program code whether the iPod touch will be delivered with Touch ID or Face ID. The upcoming keynote is expected in March or April. In addition to the latest discovery, Apple could release the AirPods 2 and AirPower.
