The latest iOS update has already been rolled out twice by Apple.
iOS 12.1.2 was first released with version number 16C101 on December 17th. The update originally fixed a problem that occurred when activating the eSim (embedded SIM). It also resolved a bug that affected the cellular connection in Turkey. A few days later, Apple re-released the same update with the same description - only the version number was changed to 16C104. Now some users are reporting problems with the data connection via cellular.
Some affected people complain about limited data connections. One user writes that a data connection was possible when using Facebook, but other apps and Safari were not working. Other affected people were unable to connect to the Internet at all. However, the problem does not seem to affect everyone - there are many users who have not noticed any restrictions so far.
The reason for this error is still unknown – but there is already a way to temporarily solve the problem. To do this, the function Wi-Fi calls under mobile network in the settings. If this does not solve the problem, you must go to the settings under mobile network, both data options the option Activate LTE on Data only be converted.
It is assumed that Apple will solve the problem with iOS 12.1.3, but it is not known exactly when the update will be released. The update is currently available to developers as a beta version.
