The popular social media service Instagram turned ten years old today. To mark the anniversary, the photo-based platform is celebrating with new features, including the ability to choose the app icon yourself.
Instagram is now a decade old and that deserves to be celebrated. For this reason, Facebook Daughter released a new update. Users can now access a calendar in the archive that offers a look back at all stories from the last three years. This area is private - but anyone who wants to share one of the past moments with their followers can of course do so. Instagram has also announced new anti-bullying features that aim to automatically hide potentially abusive comments.
Against bullying: Instagram expands warning system
However, hidden comments are not completely deleted and can still be viewed by tapping the "Show hidden comments" button. In addition, the warning system has also been expanded. Instagram famously has a feature that notifies users when their comment could be considered offensive, giving the user the opportunity to reflect and make changes before it is published. Now, the feature is aimed at repeat offenders and helps them take a moment to think about their words and the potential consequences of posting them.
Select the Instagram app icon yourself
To round off the birthday package, Instagram has now added the option to choose your own app icon. This means that users can decide for themselves which app logo they want to display on their home screen this month. They can choose between a range of new and classic icons in orange, yellow, green, purple, black, white and other colors.

To access the new option, you must open Instagram and select the Settings section. Swipe down from top to bottom to open the hidden menu. To access the new features, you must have the latest app update (V. 162). Are you active on Instagram? Us too – this way please, thanks for the subscription. ? (Photo by Ink Drop / Bigstockphoto)
