Apple has added a new feature to the iCloud for Windows app that will soon allow users to access their iCloud passwords in Google Chrome.
According to the update description for the latest update offers the app now "supports the iCloud Passwords Chrome extension." After updating the app, users will see a new "Passwords" section within the app. Users will be prompted to download the new Chrome extension required to use the feature. When the feature is enabled, iCloud Keychain will store passwords while users use Safari or apps on iOS or across systems on macOS. The update to the iCloud for Windows app allows users to use their synced passwords on Windows for the first time.
iCloud Keychain on Windows: The extension is not yet available
The introduction of the feature on Windows marks the first time that support for iCloud Keychain has been expanded beyond Apple’s operating systems, as The 8-Bit noticed. It remains unknown whether the extension will also be available for Chrome on the Mac. Although the update is already available, the required extension has not yet been released. Interested parties will therefore have to be patient. However, the release should take place soon. The "iCloud for Windows" app allows iPhone users to access their documents and photos from a Windows PC. The application was originally released in the Windows Store in June 2019.
