Apple has released a new version of the “iCloud for Windows App”, which now provides access to the keychain and an extension for synchronizing passwords across other devices.
The Password Manager feature allows Windows users to easily access and manage iCloud Keychain passwords from their PCs. This means users can add, edit, copy and paste, delete and look up usernames or passwords. The feature also integrates with Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge on Windows via the iCloud Passwords Extension.
iCloud for Windows App: Version 12.5 now available
The iCloud Keychain passwords on Windows are stored in an encrypted database and transmitted to the respective browser extension via an encrypted channel, whereby the passwords are not stored in plain text. The extension was first released in early 2021 documented. Since there are many Windows users among iCloud users, this should of course be an advantage. Apple's iCloud for Windows app allows PC users to access information stored on the company's cloud platform, including photos, videos, emails, calendar data and other data. Those who use the application can now download version 12.5 for free from the Microsoft Store. (Photo by Worawee / Bigstockphoto)
