Apple has quietly removed the "Beats by Dre" website ahead of the "Hi-Speed" event on Tuesday. The reason for this could be the HomePod mini and the AirPods Studio.
As the blog Apple Terminal noticed, the landing page for Beats products is no longer available on the Apple website. The so-called Wayback Machine has a snapshot of the site in its original form from October 2nd, while the most recent snapshot from October 9th marks the site as "down". Accordingly, Apple must have taken the website offline sometime between October 2nd and 9th. The rumor that Apple wants to replace the Beats brand with AirPods has been gaining more and more momentum in recent weeks. The Cupertino-based company has already renamed the radio station "Beats 1" to "Apple Music 1" renamed and removed numerous support pages for Beats products.
AirPods Studio replace Beats Studio
The Beats Updater was also set. All this indicates that Apple will soon only offer audio products under the AirPods brand. Beats products are currently available, but an update of the individual models is no longer to be expected. In addition to the brand new HomePod mini Apple is expected to release the AirPods Studio soon. These are high-quality over-ear headphones that have all the advantages of the AirPods and more. Whether Apple will present them tomorrow remains to be seen. Rumour has it that Apple is planning to release the new headphones in two versions to offerWhile the luxury version will be available for around 599 US dollars, the sporty version will cost 350 US dollars. Of course, it remains to be seen whether the whole thing will actually be so well received in the end. (Photo by DedMityay / Bigstockphoto)
