There's now another virtual assistant that users can access from their iPhone. Starting today, users can say "Hey Spotify" with the Spotify app open to start playing a song, album, or even a playlist.
Like the GSM Arena platform reported, the new feature was tested some time ago. Now Spotify seems to be rolling out the function for iOS and Android. Since the introduction has only just started, not every Spotify user will be able to access it straight away. As already mentioned above, you can start a song, an album or even a playlist with the voice command "Hey Spotify".
“Hey Spotify” function differs from the voice search function
To enable the feature, users need to tap the Settings icon within the Spotify app. Then navigate to Voice Interactions and enable the Hey Spotify button. The new Hey Spotify feature is an addition to the voice search function that was previously available to Premium users. The difference is that Hey Spotify is truly hands-free as long as the app is running. In recent months, the streaming service has announced and integrated several new features. In addition, the design on the iOS, Mac and web apps has also been revamped. (Photo by Denys Prykhodov / Bigstockphoto)
