If manufacturers want to bring new devices onto the market, they must first register them with the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC). Apple has now registered five new Mac devices.
Today's EEC Fund (via AppleInsider) is causing a bit of confusion. While Apple has registered five new Mac devices, numerous other products that have already been released and pre-registered have also been registered again. Today's filing shows four main entries that include a total of 64 Apple products. However, only five devices are new so far. These are listed as "Apple-branded personal computers and spare parts for them". macOS 11 Big Sur was registered as the operating system. The model numbers of the devices are: A2348, A2438, A2439, A2337 and A2338.
Apple Silicon Mac to be released in November
Interestingly, there are still three identifiers to be found in the June 2019 were included in the list - A2147, A2158 and A2182. These are Mac products that have not been released to date. Apple may have simply forgotten to update the entries. Although the next Apple event is taking place tonight, it is not expected that Apple will present any new Mac devices. The iPhone 12, the HomePod mini and two new chargers called MagSafe are expected. The official launch of the first Apple Silicon Mac is not expected until November. Have you seen it yet?
