At WWDC 2020, Apple announced that third-party providers would also have access to the Find My application. Now, at CES 2021, the first accessories to be integrated into the app were announced.
The Find My app is included as standard in iOS 14 and is used not only to find friends and family who share their location with you but also your devices. Objects such as AirPods Pro, your iPad or your Apple Watch are displayed in the application. If one of the devices is lost, the app can save you the trouble of searching.
The release could take place under iOS 14.4
Until now, the whole thing was Apples own devices. But in the future, certified third-party providers should also be able to integrate their accessories. The first products that can use this function have now been introduced. For example, the SoundForm Pro True Wireless Earbuds from Belkin can be listed in the app. It is currently not clear when the feature will finally be available to all users. It is assumed that the official release will take place under iOS 14.4. The version is currently in beta. However, it cannot be ruled out that the whole thing will also be activated with a later iOS 14 version. (Photo by Kaspars Grinvalds / Bigstockphoto)
