The new Doubletake application from FiLMiC Pro is finally available in the App Store. The app turns the iPhone into a multi-cam studio.
With the new Doubletake app, iPhone users can record videos with multiple cameras at the same time - but not every iPhone model supports the multi-cam feature. The app description states:
DoubleTake by FiLMiC turns your iPhone into a multi-cam studio, allowing you to record video from two cameras simultaneously on current devices.
It is further emphasized that the application generally requires iOS 13 and can therefore be downloaded on all iPhones compatible with iOS 13. However, the multi-cam feature is only available on the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max.
High performance demands
Due to the high performance requirements, older devices cannot run the feature - therefore, no later integration of the iPhone X is to be expected. The multi-cam feature is described as follows:
Multi-Cam: Capture two different focal lengths of the same subject at once. Use DoubleTake with the Ultra Wide (iPhone 11 Pro Max, 11 Pro, and 11 only) and Telephoto to capture a shot and punch-in of your subject at the same time. Or use another combination of front and rear lenses for unparalleled multi-cam capture.
Doubletake by FiLMiC Pro naturally includes additional features such as improved focus and exposure control, camera visualization and more. The videos can be recorded in 24fps, 25fps or 30fps. The app is available free of charge. Download in the App Store available. (Photo by franz12 / Bigstockphoto)
