In addition to the Apple Watch Series 8, the second generation of the Apple Watch SE was presented at the “Far Out” event.
The cheaper Apple Watch SE was updated and is still aimed primarily at customers on a tight budget. Along with the new Apple Watch Series 8, Apple also introduced an updated Apple Watch SE for the first time since its launch in 2020. The new model is equipped with the S8 processor, which is also found in the Apple Watch Series 8.
Apple Watch SE 2 reduces carbon footprint
The new model is the same size as the previous version, with a small version at 41mm and a larger one at 44mm. The rear case is now made of a nylon composite material and has a smaller carbon footprint.
Aside from the price-conscious customers, Apple has repositioned the LTE model of the Apple Watch SE for parents who want a device for their children but don't want to buy an iPhone. The new Apple Watch SE 2 starts at $249 for GPS mode and $299 for GPS + cellular. Pre-orders are being accepted starting today, with shipping starting September 16. (Image: Apple)
