The portals downdetector.com and AlleStörungen.de have been reporting several technical problems with the world's largest social network since around 4:45 p.m. The outage is particularly severe on the western coast of the USA. The messenger WhatsApp and the social network Instagram are also affected by massive disruptions. What caused the disruption remains unknown for the time being. Facebook was founded in 2004 and now has over two billion users worldwide.
