Where is the dark mode in Facebook for iOS users? No one has a real answer to this question. Yes, it exists, yes, it is being introduced, but many people still don't have access to it. Now, however, something seems to be happening.
I've had access to Dark Mode in Facebook for a good day now. I have to honestly admit that I don't like it as much as I hoped. But in the end it's a matter of taste. Let's see if I can get used to the "feature" in the next few days. Whatever. It's been a good 400 days since Dark Mode was first spotted in Facebook for iOS. The feature introduced by Apple has been available since iOS 13. But Facebook seems to be taking a particularly long time to roll it out worldwide.
Dark Mode: Facebook confirms extension of test phase
After the first hints of the implementation were discovered in April 2020, a small number of users received access on the feature. In the last weeks and months, more iOS users have joined. Nobody knows why Facebook is taking so long to introduce the dark look. But now things seem to be moving. There is even confirmation. The well-known hacker Jane Manchun Wong has posted a video on Twitter that was created together with Facebook. It shows that the social media giant finally rolls out the feature worldwide.
How to activate Dark Mode in Facebook
Strictly speaking, Facebook Dark Mode is still in a test phase, but this is to be expanded to all users. It is therefore expected that in the next few days - or weeks - all iOS users in Facebook will have access to it. The whole thing is also pretty easy to check. The feature is deactivated by default and, unlike WhatsApp and Instagram, can be controlled in the Facebook app. From now on, the menu item "Night Mode" will be found under Settings and Privacy. The new appearance can be permanently activated or deactivated or linked to the system settings. AirPods Pro on special offer at Amazon – available now. (Photo by r.classen / Bigstockphoto)
