We have already read several rumors that Apple plans to introduce at least one brand new Apple Silicon iMac this year. Now the device has been leaked through an Xcode crash log.
According to various reports, Apple wants to introduce the iMac in a brand new design this year. The device is to be equipped with a new Apple Silicon processor. Now the device has probably been revealed through an Xcode crash log. This is what the developer @DocterD reports on Twitter:
Check out what just leaked through the Xcode Crash Reporter for macOS. iMac – ARM64.
According to 9to5Mac, the crash report confirms that the "family of devices" matches that of Apple's iMac lineup, so it's not a display bug but rather confirmation that Apple has a working, unreleased iMac with Apple Silicon.
Both iMac models are to be updated
It's no surprise that Apple is rumored to be unveiling a new iMac with a major design change sometime this year. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, the new iMac will look very similar to Apple's Pro Display XDR:
The new models will slim down the thick black bezels around the screen and do away with the large metal chin area in favor of a design similar to Apple's Pro Display XDR monitor. These iMacs will have a flat back, away from the curved one of the current iMac. Apple plans to introduce two versions - codenamed J456 and J457 - to replace the existing 21.5-inch and 27-inch models later this year.
This concept was recently presented by Jon Prosser. Prosser claims that Apple will offer the device in five different colors, including green and blue. Cupertino will probably also install a MiniLED display, as well as a new generation of Apple Silicon. (Image: Jon Prosser / Front Page Tech)
