A new Bloomberg According to reports, Tim Cook has sent an internal memo to his own workforce in California, Seattle, South Korea, Japan, Italy, Germany, France, Switzerland and the UK. According to the memo, employees will be able to work from home this week if their workplace allows it. They will also receive their normal hourly wages. Cook also explains other changes within the company.
Staff density is reduced
The memo states that staffing levels will be reduced to best prevent the spread of coronavirus in retail. This means that the number of employees in Apple stores will be temporarily reduced – both in sales and at the Genius Bar. The availability of seats at Today at Apple sessions will also be reduced. So while Apple is introducing new measures to protect its own employees, the company still has to deal with production problems.
