The time has finally come. After countless rumors and leaks, Apple has now officially introduced the Apple Watch Series 7. A larger display, significantly more performance and more - that's the new Apple Watch Series 7.
After countless speculations and extensive leaks, the Apple Watch Series 7 has now been officially introduced by Apple. Jeff Williams, Apple's Chief Operating Officer, explains:

Design different than expected
The new Retina display on Series 7 has nearly 20% more screen space than the Series 6, and it's an even bigger leap than the Series 3, with over 50% more screen space. The Series 7 display has been completely redesigned to reduce the bezels to just 1.7 millimeters, which is 40 % thinner than the Series 6. It's an incredible innovation that maximizes screen space while barely changing the dimensions of the watch itself.
The Apple Watch Series 7, however, does not have the expected flattened edge design that we already know from the iPhone and iPad Pro. However, the case has been redesigned. Williams explains:

Apple Watch Series 7: Availability
The shape of the watch has also been refined. Both the case and the display of the Series 7 have softer, rounded corners. The new display refracts the light at the edges, creating a subtle wraparound effect that blends seamlessly into the curvature of the case.
This curvature means there is more screen space. Apple says there is nearly 50% more text on the screen than on the Series 6. There is also a new, full keyboard that you can either tap or slide from letter to letter. Of course, new watch faces have been added too, taking advantage of the larger display.

Leaks have already suggested that the Apple Watch could be delayed due to production delays and the ongoing delays caused by the global chip shortage, so perhaps that's why Apple only announced that the new Watch will be available "in the fall."
