With the Beats Updater, users can update certain Beats products quickly and easily using a cable. Apple has now discontinued the tool.
Apple has officially discontinued the so-called Beats Updater, the software utility that allows users to update the firmware of their Beats wireless headphones, earphones and speakers. Some Beats products can be connected to the PC via USB cable and updated using the corresponding tool. However, Apple prefers firmware updates over the air. For this reason, the Beats Updater has now been discontinued. The tool is of course still available for download and can update the following products:
- Beats Solo2 Wireless
- Beats Studio Wireless
- Powerbeats 2 Wireless
- Beats Pill 2.0
- Powerbeats
- Powerbeats Pro
- Powerbeats3 Wireless
- Beats Solo Pro
- Beats Solo3 Wireless
- Beats Studio3 Wireless
- BeatsX
iOS 14 & Co.: Update offers new features
However, a new version will no longer be provided - according to the Cupertino-based company. However, those who have newer hardware will be able to do automatic firmware updates via iPhone or iPad. A separate app is not necessary for this. However, things are different for Android users. They have to download the Beats app. The following Beats products are suitable for over-the-air updates:
- Powerbeats
- Powerbeats Pro
- Powerbeats3 Wireless
- Beats Solo Pro
- Beats Solo3 Wireless
- Beats Studio3 Wireless
- BeatsX
