Apple released a new firmware update for the Beats Studio Buds on Tuesday evening. The company has now revealed the new features.
The 10M359 update now displays the battery status of the Beats Studio Buds on iOS devices when the charging case is open and nearby, similar to the AirPods. In fact, a pop-up displays the battery level of the earbuds and the charging case. Another welcome new feature is that the Beats Studio Buds now support instant pairing via iCloud. Unlike the AirPods and other Beats headphones with Apple's own chip, the Beats Studio Buds did not support syncing via iCloud, so the user had to manually pair them with each new device. This has now finally been rectified with the latest firmware update.
Beats Studio Buds: Apple adds two new features
Apple has also enabled new physical controls with the "b" button on the earbuds. Users can now change the volume of the Beats Studio Buds by pressing the side buttons. Apple says this feature works with iOS, macOS, and even Android devices. To get the latest firmware for the Beats Studio Buds, users will need an iPhone, iPad, or Mac running the latest version of iOS or macOS, or an Android phone running the latest version of the Beats app, available on Google Play. You can check the firmware version of the Beats earbuds on iOS by going to the Bluetooth menu in the Settings app. Want new headphones?
