As a rumor already emerged this morning, Apple has indeed introduced a new entry-level iPad as part of the “By innovation only” keynote.
The new iPad 7 is the direct successor to the 9.7-inch model released in 2018. The new tablet has a 10.2-inch display and an A10 Fusion processor as well as a Smart Connector. The device also supports the first generation Apple Pencil. As expected, it uses Touch ID. The casing is made of 100 percent recycled aluminum.
"The new iPad offers even more value in our most popular and affordable iPad model with a larger 10.2-inch Retina display, support for Apple Pencil, and for the first time, the full-size Smart Keyboard." – said Greg Joswiak – Apple Vice President of Product Marketing.
