Despite the new 49mm size, the Apple Watch Ultra is compatible with the bands made with the larger 42mm, 44mm, and 45mm Apple Watch models.
The new, larger Apple Watch Ultra has a 49mm display and a larger case. However, it still uses the same Apple Watch band connector that was introduced on the original model. The new Apple Watch Ultra bands, such as the Trail Loop, Alpine Loop and Ocean Band, are designed specifically for the rugged watch. They are classified as 49mm bands but are compatible with previous large Apple Watch models. This means that any large Apple Watch band, current or previous, will work with any large Apple Watch currently shipping. So 42mm, 44mm and 45mm bands are universal across all Apple Watch generations, including the Ultra model.

Apple Watch Ultra now available for pre-order
The Apple Watch Ultra bands have color-coordinated fastening mechanisms that do not match other Apple Watch cases. Otherwise, they work fine with all other larger watch models. Owners of the "small" Apple Watch models have a different size class - 38mm, 40mm and 41mm. The Apple Watch Ultra bands are only available in one size and do not fit the smaller Apple Watch models. Customers interested in the Apple Watch Ultra or the new bands can now purchase them for 999 euros pre-orderAccording to Apple, delivery will begin on September 16. (Image: Apple)
