Apple introduced new iPad and Apple Watch models at the “Time Flies” event. The company also discussed the included USB power adapter.
Rumors that Apple plans to ship the iPhone 12 without a power adapter this year have been a hot topic of conversation. Now it is at least partially official. Apple announced today that the company will remove the USB power adapter from Apple Watch packaging in the future. The reason for this is environmental concerns. In addition, Apple explained the whole thing in a footnote as follows: noted:
Less waste, lower emissions
In keeping with Apple's commitment to the environment, Apple Watch Series 6 features industry-leading levels of recycled content: 100 percent recycled rare earth elements in the Taptic Engine, nearly 100 percent recycled tungsten throughout the product, and a 100 percent recycled casing on aluminum models. Apple is also helping protect the environment by removing the power adapter, which could become electronic waste, from Apple Watch Series 6 packaging and supporting its Apple Watch manufacturing partners in their transition to renewable energy.
The new strategy seems to be set. The iPhone 12 will also probably be delivered without an adapter or EarPods. After all, slimmer packaging leads to less waste and lower emissions. The environmental aspect should therefore not be ignored. However, it can be assumed that there will also be criticism in view of the prices. (Image: Apple)
