Apple introduced the Apple Watch Series 6 and Apple Watch SE in September. Both models went on sale last month. Now there are reports that the SE model is struggling with overheating problems.
The Apple Watch SE is based on the Series 5 and offers a built-in compass in addition to the S5 chip. The SE version of the popular smartwatch is available in 40mm and 44mm sizes with GPS and cellular. The product starts at 291.45 euros and is an ideal entry-level device in the world of smartwatches from Apple. However, the inexpensive model seems to have a problem with overheating, as is now being reported. Reddit A post was created in which several users reported heat problems. Specifically, it is claimed that the smartwatch gets hot after a few hours of use. So far, this information has been reported by six different users.
Apple Watch SE: So far only South Korea is affected
The problem did not leave the Apple Watch SE unscathed. As can be seen in the pictures, a yellow spot has formed in the upper right corner of the watch. What seems particularly interesting is that the problem has only occurred in South Korea so far.
According to the article, the affected models have been replaced by Apple. But it remains unclear what is causing this severe overheating. It remains to be seen whether further reports will be documented in the near future, possibly from other parts of the world. As soon as we have found out more, we will report on it as usual.
