Apple released the new operating system this evening macOS 10.15 Catalina released for all Mac users. As part of the update, a new version of Apple's professional software Final Cut Pro X was also released.
The new version of Final Cut Pro X (10.4.7) now has a completely new Metal Engine to primarily take advantage of the new Mac Pro - the update also leads to a significant increase in performance, which will benefit a large number of other Macs. According to Apple, the new Metal Engine should improve general playback and significantly speed up rendering, real-time effects and exporting projects. The new Final Cut Pro X is around 20 percent faster on 15-inch MacBook Pro models and a full 35 percent faster on the iMac Pro. The new Sidecar feature has also been integrated.
