This evening, Apple not only introduced new hardware but also released the third beta of iOS 14.2, iPadOS 14.2, tvOS 14.2 and watchOS 7.1 for registered developers. A very useful feature has been integrated into tvOS 14.2.
Apple users who have a HomePod and Apple TV have been waiting for the feature for a long time. Until now, the two devices had to be re-paired every time you wanted to use them. There was no option to set HomePods as permanent Apple TV speakers. But that is changing with iOS 14.2 and tvOS 14.2. The third beta of the new operating systems allows you to do just that.

iOS 14.2 launch is not yet known
From now on, users can use the Home app to set their HomePods as the default speakers on the Apple TV. This means that the setting is permanently saved - there is no need to pair them repeatedly. It remains to be seen whether the feature will actually deliver what it promises in the long term. Nevertheless, it is a function that has been requested for a very long time. When Apple will release the final version of the new operating system remains to be seen. If you don't have a HomePod yet, you should take a look at the brand new HomePod mini - a promising smart speaker at a low price. Have you seen it yet?
