The first pre-orders for the new Apple TV 4K and the redesigned Siri Remote weren't supposed to arrive until Friday, May 21st, but at least one order has already been delivered.
Reddit user Makivivu reports that his Apple TV 4K pre-order recently arrived – a full 48 hours earlier than planned. Unlike the iPad Pro and the iMac, no press reports have been published about the new Apple TV or the Siri Remote yet. So the embargo is still in place. However, the Reddit user offers a few hints about the performance. This writes:
There's nothing to complain about. Runs smoothly at every turn and installing apps is so fast it's ridiculous. Can't really compare to the older Apple TVs as this is my first Apple TV. But smoother than my Sony Android TV software, that's for sure.
Apple TV 4K: Apple redesigns Siri Remote
Regarding the redesigned Siri Remote, he writes:
I almost always navigate with the trackpad. I just set the tracking speed to slow and it feels good to me.
Inside the new Apple TV is an A12 Bionic processor, which gives the device even more power than the competition. There is also support for HDR content with a higher refresh rate. The new Siri Remote has a silver design with a new clickpad on the top and, for the first time, a power button. There is also a back button that replaces the old menu button, while the Siri button itself has been moved to the side. (Image: Apple)
