Apple today announced its newest retail location in the historic Tower Theatre in downtown Los Angeles via press release. Pursue:
The Apple Tower Theater is one of Apple's most significant restoration projects and is designed to inspire even more creativity in the heart of the city. With the opening of the new store in Los Angeles, Apple also launches Today at Apple Creative Studios, a global initiative that offers young creatives hands-on experience and mentoring.
The Apple Tower Theater is Apple's 26th location in the greater Los Angeles area. Apple's Senior Vice President of Retail, Deirdre O'Brien, said:
Apple Tower Theatre: A building full of history
Los Angeles is bursting with creativity in the arts, music and entertainment at every corner, and we are thrilled to continue to expand our relationship with this special city. The Apple Tower Theatre honors the rich history and heritage of this entertainment capital.

The building was designed in 1927 by famous movie theater architect S. Charles Lee and was the first cinema in Los Angeles to be wired with sound for films.
This legacy of technological innovation continues today and is the perfect place to explore Apple's entire line of iPhone, iPad and Mac, which have transformed modern filmmaking, photography and music composition.

The cinema itself was closed in 1988 and has remained unused since then.
With the same care as previous restoration projects, Apple worked with leading preservationists, restoration artists and the City of Los Angeles to preserve and restore the theater's beauty and grandeur. Every surface was meticulously refinished and the building underwent a complete seismic upgrade.
