Apple released software updates for iOS, macOS and tvOS this evening.
The iKonzern has released macOS 10.14.2, iOS 12.1.1 and tvOS 12.1.1 for all users. The watchOS 5.1.2 update is still pending. An update for the HomePod has also been released. There is also an important security update for macOS 10.13.6.
iOS 12.1.1 and HomePod Update Information
iOS 12.1.1 includes the following features for the iPhone and iPad:
– Preview notifications with Haptic Touch on iPhone XR
– Dual SIM with eSIM for additional network operators on the iPhone XR, iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max
– Switch between front and rear cameras with a single tap during FaceTime calls
– Capture Live Photos during one-on-one FaceTime calls
In addition, the following bugs were fixed:
– Face ID could sometimes be temporarily unavailable
– Visual Voicemail failed to perform downloads for some customers
– In Messages, text suggestions occasionally did not work when using Chinese or Japanese keyboards
– Voice memos could occasionally not be uploaded to iCloud
– Time zones could sometimes not be updated automatically
With the new software version, the HomePod supports mainland China and Hong Kong. The new macOS update does not bring any major innovations. It primarily provides stability improvements.
For now, there is no sign of life from watchOS 5.1.2. It remains to be seen when Apple will release the update.
