Apple is currently facing new challenges due to the coronavirus epidemic. While Cupertino has to reorganize production, some Apple employees are stuck in the Chinese city of Wenzhou and the province of Hubei. But Apple has not forgotten the stranded part of the workforce.
A post was published on the Chinese network Weibo showing the contents of a package that Apple sent to stranded employees. It contains face masks, hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes and more. Each care package also contains an iPad. The tablet is intended to be used by children for online learning and entertainment. The enclosed letter states:
Dear colleagues in Hubei and Wenzhou,
we hope this note finds you healthy and safe. Since last communicating with you, we know that you are all staying strong during this challenging time. We understand the difficulties you are facing and want to support you and your families in any way we can. Hubei and Wuhan city are the hardest hit by the coronavirus outbreak, which has now claimed 2,835 lives in China.
On behalf of the entire Apple team, we send you our best wishes along with another CareKit for you and your families. Inside the kit, you'll find comfort items and an iPad that can make online learning easier for children or help them pass the time during an extended stay at home.
In addition, a range of advice and support services have been prepared especially for you to help you through this time.
This care package is by no means the first of its kind. But the iPad is a particularly nice gesture. In addition to employees, local aid groups are also receiving financial support. supports, as Apple CEO Tim Cook announced at the end of January. Due to the current situation, the Cupertino-based company had to profit warning for the second quarter. There is currently no revised sales forecast for the current quarter.
