Apple released iOS 14.2.1 for the HomePod and HomePod mini this evening.
Apple released iOS 14.2.1 for the iPhone 12 series last week and fixed three bugs in the process. The build is now also available for the two HomePods. The update does not appear to contain any new features. However, it can be assumed that the update is intended to fix bugs and improve stability. The update description only contains the following note:
This update contains general performance and stability improvements.
iOS 14.2.1: HomePod updates itself automatically
If we find out any details, we will update the article and point them out accordingly. iOS 14.2.1 for iPhone 12 fixes the following bugs:
- Some MMS messages could not be received
- Hearing aids with the "Made for iPhone" logo could experience problems with audio quality when listening to audio via the iPhone
- The lock screen may no longer respond on the iPhone 12 mini
