Apple released the second beta of iOS 13.6, iPadOS 13.6, tvOS 13.4.8 and macOS Catalina 10.15.6 to all developers this evening.
While Apple rolled out the first beta last week under the name iOS 13.5.5 or iPadOS 13.5.5, a change in the numbering has now been made. The second beta of iOS 13.6 is based on iOS 13.5.5. A change in the numbering was already made in the last beta phase - iOS 13.5. The reason was the Exposure Notification API. At the time, Apple explained that every change in iOS that uses a new SDK would require the number of the minor version to be changed. The new updates are available for download as usual in the Developer Center or alternatively over-the-air. It is not yet known whether there have been any major new features. The whole thing may also have something to do with some bugs that are included in iOS 13.5 or iOS 13.5.1. If the changes are worth mentioning, we will report on them as usual.
Are you also a beta tester and would like to exchange ideas with other testers? Then you could join our Telegram group (Apfelpatient – Beta Workshop) might be just right for you.
Notice – As usual, a preview should not be installed on an actively used iPhone or iPad, as these are usually quite unstable and buggy – we recommend using a second device for this. (Photo by Sikov / Bigstockphoto)
