Apple released the Golden Master version of iOS 14.2 and iPadOS 14.2 to registered developers and public testers this evening.
Apple released the Golden Master version of iOS 14.2 and iPadOS 14.2 this evening. This means that this build is the final version of the new iPhone and iPad operating system, which will be released to all users next week. First and foremost, the new update fixes the problem with the error message relating to new beta updates. But iOS 14.2 brings a lot more.
iOS 14.2: The HomePod also benefits
The new iOS version mainly fixes bugs and improves existing features. However, there are also a handful of new features. For example, the media controls in the control center have been revised and the AirPlay button in Apple Music has been updated. But the absolute highlight is a new element in the control center - music recognition. This means that under iOS 14.2 it is possible to integrate Shazam in the control center. New emojis are also being introduced. In terms of the HomePod, iOS 14.2 introduces intercom support as well as the Dolby Atmos feature, which supports the classic version of the HomePod in conjunction with an Apple TV 4K. In addition to the new features, Apple also fixed a number of bugs, including issues with widgets, the Apple Watch app, and more. Below you can find the full update description in full.
