It comes as a complete surprise. After Apple rolled out the final version of iOS 12.2 two days ago, the bitten apple is now starting a new beta phase - iOS 12.3.
Apple released new beta versions of iOS 12.3, tvOS 12.3 and Apple TV Software 7.3 for registered developers this evening. Observers assumed that iOS 12.2 would be the last major update before iOS 13 - but that was not the case. With the first iOS 12.3 beta, Apple is reshuffling the cards.
The Apple TV Software 7.3 Beta is particularly interesting. Apple's previous third-generation Apple TV Box has long been discontinued and no longer runs on tvOS. Instead, a stripped-down operating system without the App Store is used. It could be used for the new streaming service Apple TV Plus We don't yet know what's new in iOS 12.3 - but the focus could be on the May Apple TV Channels app. Once we have installed the software and scanned for new features, we will update this post.
