Apple has now opened the books and released the results for the third fiscal quarter of 2024 (second calendar quarter of 2024). Side note: Apple's fiscal year starts on October 1st and ends on September 30th. Apple did not announce a sales forecast at the last quarterly earnings conference either. The Cupertino-based company posted sales of $85.8 billion and net income of $21.45 billion, or $1.40 per share, in the last quarter, compared to sales of $81.8 billion and net income of $19.9 billion in the same quarter last year. So expressed Apple boss Tim Cook said:
Apple today reported a new June quarter revenue record of $85.8 billion, up 5 percent year over year. During the quarter, at our Worldwide Developers Conference, we were thrilled to announce incredible updates to our software platforms, including Apple Intelligence, a breakthrough personal intelligence system that puts powerful, private generative AI models at the heart of iPhone, iPad, and Mac. We're excited to share these tools with our users, and we continue to invest significantly in the innovations that will enrich our customers' lives while keeping the values that drive our work front and center.
Apple Q3/2024: Technology giant records growth
Apple’s CFO, Luca Maestri, said:
During the quarter, our record business performance resulted in earnings per share growth of 11 percent and operating cash flow of nearly $29 billion, enabling us to return over $32 billion to shareholders. We are also very pleased that our installed base of active devices reached a new all-time high thanks to very high customer satisfaction and loyalty across all geographic segments.
