Model names for three new M2-based Macs have reportedly been discovered in unspecified Apple code, most likely macOS.
After the M1 found its way into several critically acclaimed Macs, it's no surprise that the M2 is next. Now, however, a developer has discovered concrete evidence of yet-to-be-released M2 models. Developer Pierre Blazquez would not reveal the Apple code in which the evidence was found, nor would he confirm that it is for sure the M2.
More M2 Macs are already expected
However, Apple has said that the M1 is ready, so the three – Mac14.5; Mac14.6; and Mac14.8 – are almost certainly new M2 models. writes Blazquez:
The identifiers were extracted from a file archived in a publicly available software package. No UI resources or anything really interesting (otherwise I wouldn't have tweeted it).
Blazquez emphasizes that this is information from publicly downloadable software and that it is in no way claimed to be an insider leak. (Image: Apple)
