Apple is apparently preparing a new repair program - this is revealed by an internal document. According to it, a small number of MacBook Air models from 2018 are said to qualify for the free service.
In an internal document, Apple confirmed to its own repair staff that there is a problem with the logic board of the MacBook Air 2018. The letter states that only a "very small number" of MacBook Air models are affected.
Apple Stores and authorized service partners have been informed of the situation. Accordingly, the motherboard in the affected devices must be replaced free of charge - the non-public document was anonymously leaked to 9to5mac. According to the content, Apple wants to inform affected customers by email, as the problem can be narrowed down to certain serial numbers. They should then go to an Apple Store or alternatively to an authorized service partner who can finally check the device.
Symptoms not yet entirely clear
