Apple announced in an email to podcasters today that the launch of Apple Podcast subscriptions has been delayed. The company originally planned to introduce paid podcasts in May.

We're thrilled with the response to last month's announcement, and it's exciting to see the hundreds of new subscriptions and channels being submitted daily by creators from around the world. To ensure we're providing the best experience for creators and listeners, Apple Podcasts subscriptions and channels will now launch in June. We'll communicate further updates on availability and best practices in this newsletter to help you prepare your subscriptions and channels.
Apple Podcasts: The library is to be improved
Apple also acknowledges issues creators have had when using Apple Podcasts Connect. As has been reported several times, the Apple Podcasts directory has been facing a number of issues since April.
Over the past few weeks, some creators have experienced delays in the availability of their content and access to Apple Podcasts Connect. We have resolved these disruptions and ask creators to contact us if they are experiencing any issues.
Finally, Apple acknowledges that the design of the Apple Podcasts application, introduced with iOS 14.5, was not particularly well received. The company explains that it has addressed some concerns with iOS 14.6 and additional improvements to the library interface are planned "in the coming weeks."
We've also heard from listeners and made adjustments based on their feedback with iOS 14.6, which was released on Monday. We'll be rolling out additional improvements to the Library over the next few weeks.
