With Apple Pay, iPhone and Apple Watch can replace debit or credit cards. Simply holding the device up to the terminal initiates the payment process.
Apple's payment service was introduced in the USA in October 2014. Now Apple Pay is finally coming to Germany. Tim Cook announced this at the last quarterly figures release. However, he did not give an exact launch date.
Apple Pay connected to iOS 12
A report by iPhone ticker Apple Pay can now be set up in the current iOS 12 beta. To do this, the device must first be updated and then reset to factory settings. If the iPhone is now set up again, a request will appear to enter the necessary data to activate Apple Pay. The menu item is now also "Wallet and Apple Pay" visible.
This discovery now leads to speculation as to whether the German launch of Apple Pay is linked to the release of iOS 12. If this is the case, we will be able to pay with our iPhone in a few weeks. The final version of iOS 12 is expected at the end of September.
