With Apple Pay, iPhone and Apple Watch can replace debit or credit cards. Simply holding the device up to the terminal initiates the payment process.
It came as a surprise. On July 31, Tim Cook announced the end of the wait with the words "Apple Pay is launching in Germany later this year". The community was over the moon - Apple Pay will be launched in Germany this year. However, no date for the market launch was given. Speculation suggested it would be in the fall.
New indications of imminent launch
But now there are increasing signs that Apple Pay will be launched soon. Apple Pay Cash only appeared in the settings in Germany last weekend. Although it was not possible to configure it, the option was displayed for a short time.
There was another tip yesterday evening. The tips app sent a notification to some users about Apple Pay in Germany. It is suspected that this was an oversight on Apple's part, as the ad quickly disappeared again. Nevertheless, this raises hopes that the convenient payment option will soon be introduced.
There is still no exact launch date. However, there is already speculation that a launch date for Apple Pay in Germany may be announced next week. Two dates are possible.
1. October 30 – Apple Keynote
2. November 1st – Publication of the 4th quarter figures
Since the iGroup has often not only announced Apple Pay but also launched it during a conference call in the past, this evening would be a good candidate for it.
