Apple Pay received a new prominent supporter yesterday – Barclaycard.
The mobile payment service Apple Pay now supports a whole range of banks, allowing users to link their Visa or Mastercard with the popular payment service. However, anyone who relies on their good old Giro card will have to be patient. This is not yet compatible with Apple Pay. But the situation is different at Sparkasse, which has already presented a solution that will follow soon – more about it here.
Barclaycard customers finally included
Many Barclaycard customers were disappointed and annoyed that the introduction of Apple Pay took so long. But now the wait is finally over. Since yesterday, every Barclaycard customer can use their iPhone etc. to pay.
Simply pull out your iPhone at the checkout to pay. There's no need to search for your credit card or the right amount of cash.
The company is promoting the service on a new product pageAnyone who has the corresponding card can set up a link directly via the wallet app. In addition to an activated credit card, a current mobile phone number is also required, as stated on the product page. As soon as the customer has made the selection in the wallet app, an SMS with a confirmation code is sent - after successful entry, the service is immediately ready for use.
